In Loving Memory of James H. Williams

After a lifetime of perfecting his grumpy artistry, James H. Williams, 72, has bid adieu to his earthly realm. He departed this world on October 20, 2023, no doubt with a final grumble and an iced down Pepsi.

Jim was a man of many talents, a lengthy Air Force career, pretty good scratch golfer, & yet his ornery disposition was perhaps his most enduring achievement. His family was well aware that if there were a gold medal for grumpiness, Jim definitely would have had an entire collection!

Despite his perpetually furrowed brow, Jim had a heart of gold. He was the devoted husband of his loving wife, Judy, who miraculously managed to find joy in his sometimes-difficult ways. Theirs was a love story for the ages, proving that even the crankiest of men can find a partner in crime.

Jim leaves behind two daughters, Lisa & Suzanne, six Grandchildren, Brianna, Marshall, Gabriel, Anthony, Kendrick, & Zhai, as well as three great-grandchildren Kenzie, Larson, and the newest addition Maseo... and then there is Dee... poor Dee... Our lifelong family friend quickly became Jim's best friend & caregiver in the end. They were definitely a perfect match. They gave each other hell.

Jim will definitely be remembered with a chuckle, a tear, and a sigh of relief that he finally gets to rest in peace without anyone stepping on his lawn or accidentally brushing by one of his vehicles.

Services will be held Friday Oct 27th at 1:00pm at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene

In lieu of flowers, the family requests candy donations be made towards the yearly Halloween trunk or treat hosted this Saturday October 28, 2023, by his family & friends at Spanky P's Tavern. He would love to put up a front (yearly) pretending he didn't feel up to going just so the family would push him to attend.

Rest in peace, dear Jim, may your scowls echo through the halls of heaven for eternity.
