Tony Gale Reagan

May 30, 1951 — June 25, 2018

Shep, Texas

Tony Gale Reagan, 67, passed away on June 25, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones in his home at Shep, TX. Visitation will be at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, Tx from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, June 26th. Graveside services will be held at the Shep Cemetery on June 27th at 10:00 am. Tony will be taken to his final resting place behind his 620 John Deere Tractor.

Tony was born in Winters, TX, to Jesse and Lucille Mae Reagan. He grew up in Shep and lived there many years of his adult life. He currently resided at his home on the family farm with his wife, Brilla. Tony graduated from Blackwell High School in 1969, and obtained his diesel mechanic degree from Oklahoma State University. He was a member of the Buffalo Gap Church of Christ. He was a previous member of the Wingate Lions Club and the Wingate Volunteer Fire Department. He also joked about being the mayor and sheriff of Shep at times. He worked as a mechanic, but truly loved following in his dad’s footsteps farming and ranching. He loved fishing, driving around the farm, going to his grandkids sporting events, and spending time with family. He was an avid Texas Ranger fan. The grandkids teased him, wondering if he had any wardrobe besides a tan work shirt, jeans, and boots.

Tony is proceeded in death by his mom and dad, Jesse and Lucille Mae Reagan, his older brother, Norman Rex Reagan, and an infant son, Jimmy.

Survivors include his wife, Brilla Reagan of Shep, daughter Tandy Reagan of Abilene, son Chane Reagan and wife Melissa of Montgomery, daughter Amber Leicht of Abilene, step-son Troy Hoyt of Abilene, sister Leva Mae Self and husband Cecil “Red” Self of Happy Valley, multiple grandchildren, family, and friends.

Tony and family are forever grateful for the wonderful care he was given by the staff at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple over the last few years. They had become his family, and he was given a wonderful send-off when he left the hospital Saturday with them lining the hallway, cheering and clapping. He got to ring the big brass bell as he exited the cardiac floor that symbolizes for heart transplant patients they are finally getting to go home. He rang the bell loud and proud, knowing he was finally getting to go home to Shep. Instead of flowers, Tony would like donations made to the Ben Richie Boys Ranch at
