Terry Jean Stubblefield, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025 in Abilene, Texas. Terry was a longtime resident of Ovalo, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at 11:00am at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Terry was born on May 8, 1939, in Tolison, Arizona, to Fred and Goldia Stubblefield. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 21 years. During his first tour of duty in Germany, Terry met his first wife, Margot Kirchner.

Following his military service, Terry attended and graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a degree in Industrial Arts. While attending Hardin-Simmons University, Terry met the love of his life, Judith Ann Doyle. Terry and Judith were married on December 22, 1972, and shared a life full of love, travel, and adventure as they explored the world together.

Throughout his life, Terry worked in several careers, including teaching, owning and operating an environmental consulting firm, and farming. He was especially known for his passion for roping, trick roping, and leather tooling. While in college, Terry proudly performed trick roping for the Hardin-Simmons Band, a talent that brought him great joy and admiration and became one of the things he was best remembered for.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Goldia Stubblefield; his beloved wife, Judith Ann Doyle Stubblefield; his brothers Ted and Troy Stubblefield; and his sisters, JoAnn Henderson, Patricia Washuta, and Vonell Lacey.

He is survived by his children: son Andy Fred Stubblefield and his wife Brenda Moore of Burleson, Texas; son Anthony Noel Stubblefield and wife Melanie Griffin of Mineral Wells, Texas; daughter Tanya Nicks of Clyde, Texas; and daughter Tammie Stubblefield-Savely and husband Lem Brant Savely of Cisco, Texas. He is also survived by beloved grandchildren: Terra Dietz, Stefanie Mabry, William Stubblefield, Hanna Stubblefield, Holly Stubblefield, and Terry Ryan Nicks.
