Tammy Guy Tiner, age 65, of Buffalo Gap, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, surrounded by her family and many close friends. A visitation will be held at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Baker Heights Church of Christ on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 am with a burial to follow at Tuscola Cemetery.
Tammy was born May 26, 1960 to parents, JW and Ann Guy in Breckenridge, TX. As a young child she grew up around horses and was a successful barrel racer. She attended Breckenridge High School and graduated in 1979. After high school she attended Western Texas College where she earned her associate's degree.
Tammy had a passion for children's education and soon after college graduation returned to Breckenridge to begin her teaching career. It was there at the YMCA that she met the love of her life, Stuart Tiner. Tammy and Stuart were married on June 9, 1989. Soon after they welcomed two daughters into the world and it was no secret that motherhood was Tammy's passion and calling in life. That passion eventually expanded to being a loving Gammy to her 3 grandsons who she was so proud of. She dedicated her whole life to raising her daughters and cheering them on in every aspect of their lives, and most importantly teaching them to love the Lord.
Tammy went on to work for Abilene Independent School district as a teaching assistant for 19 years where she made lasting friendships with people who felt like family and eventually retired in 2023.
She was a dedicated member of Baker Heights Church of Christ where her servant heart was exemplified in teaching Bible class, decorating for any event big or small, and cooking meals for members in need.
She had a gift for making everything and everyone feel special. If you knew Tammy you knew what it meant to be loved. She loved big and didn't hold that love back from anyone, whether she knew you her whole life or met you recently at the grocery store. She lived her life fully for Jesus and never turned her back on him even in her health struggles. Tammy was a dedicated wife, mother, Gammy, daughter, sister, and friend. Though her absence will leave a void that cannot be filled, we rejoice that she is at peace and whole again.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Stuart Tiner of Buffalo Gap, two daughters, Sadie Rosenquist and husband Justin of Tuscola, Sealie Tiner of Buffalo Gap, mother Ann Guy of Breckenridge, three grandsons Thatcher, Sayer, and Zy Rosenquist, sister VIckie Oppegard and husband Kal of Big Spring, niece Whitney Gressett and husband Caleb of Big Spring, nephew Jud Oppegard and wife Halea of Big Spring, and multiple great nieces, nephews, aunts and uncle. She is preceded in death by her father JW Guy.
