Steve Henry Johns Trimble passed into the nearer presence of God on May 16, 2025 in Abilene, Texas.
Born in Quincy, Illinois to Virginia and Henry Johns on June 12, 1941, Steve enjoyed a full life with his family and friends.
Adopted by his step-father Charles Howard Trimble as a child, Steve grew up in Texas. After graduating from high school in Midland, Steve served in the armed forces. Steve was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who loved his country and his family.
After completing his military service, Steve graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1970, and began a successful career as an engineer with International Power Machines and other firms in Texas and California. Steve worked especially on the design and development of uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems throughout his career. He was an enthusiastic ham radio operator (K5DJH) who loved the outdoors and repairing broken electronics and hardware. From antique radios to old motors, Steve had the remarkable ability to fix anything.
Steve was a member of Roman Catholic parishes in Texas and New Mexico, with a deep faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Steve is survived by his wife of over thirty-six years, Carolyn Trimble, his children Amanda (Amy) Azallion, Kami de Vries, James (JT) Manker, Ted Manker, his step-sons Rev. David Luckenbach and Brian Luckenbach, his many grandchildren, and his siblings Perry Donop and Diane Powers.
Steve will be greatly missed. He will be forever remembered for his sharp mind, dry humor, kind heart, and a deep love for his family.
