Robert Williams

April 12, 1934 — June 16, 2016

Robert Williams, 82, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on June 16, 2016. A funeral service, with military honors, will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11:30am in the Elm Valley Community Church, Pastor, Ken Cunningham officiating, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. Burial will follow at 1:00pm in the Texas Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. A visitation will be held Sunday, June 19, from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home in Tuscola.

He entered this world on April 12, 1934 in Fairmont, NC, born to Irvin and Lily Mae (Inman) Williams. He is survived by his daughters Vicki Ivy, Phyllis Hero, Patricia Mansker and husband David, sons Rodney Williams, Robert Williams, Terry Williams and two brothers Tommy and Michael Williams, twelve grandchildren nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Bob served in the United States Army entering in 1952 and retiring in 1972. He served in Korea and Vietnam. During his service Bob received three Purple Hearts and a Sliver Star. He trained as a paratrooper and moved to military police, and retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He joined the Taylor County Sheriff Department and worked in patrol and in the jail and retired after thirteen years of service.

Bob enjoyed fishing, bowling, living in the country, coffee drinking with the gang, but most of all he loved to drive his tractor, blading his road and shredding. The annual Williams family gatherings brought Bob great Joy.
