Martha "Marty" Jane (Lawrence) Barrington

April 29, 1962 — April 7, 2021

On April 7, 2021, Martha "Marty" Jane Barrington laid down her burdens and went to be with the Lord. Visitation will be Sunday April 11th, 5-7pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, TX. Funeral service is on Monday, April 12, 11am at Lawn Baptist Church in Lawn, TX.

Martha was born April 29, 1962 to Billy Gene and Theata Gay (Hatcher) Lawrence, in Little Rock, AR. She graduated valedictorian from Christian Temple High School in Fort Worth, TX in 1979. Martha married her best friend and love of her life, Troy Barrington, on Dec. 18, 1982. They were blessed with eight children, one of whom died in infancy.

Martha served as a pastor's wife for over 20 years, homeschooled all seven children through highschool, and shared her creativity through cooking classes and decorating beautiful cakes for every family occasion. She became especially involved with caring for her youngest daughter, Shanna, who has special needs. She was active in the Big Country Home Educators association as a co-op teacher, faithful member of Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church (Lawn, Texas).

As her disease progressed, she was limited in what she could physically do, but she continued to encourage others through social media and conversation. Her fighting spirit and faith in God became more evident every day, and her life serves as an example of what God can accomplish through one person. She went to be with the Lord full of gratitude and faith.

Martha was preceded in death by her mother, her brother (Mark), and her infant son (James 1988). She is survived by her husband Troy; children Sarah, Susannah, Stacey, Stephanie (husband, Micah Milyard), Jonathan (wife, Kaitlyn Hoffman), Sophia, and Shanna; 5 grandchildren; father, Billy Lawrence; siblings Jeanie & Jack Watson, Sandy & Kenny Dalton, and Daniel & Michelle Lawrence, along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Memorial donations may be sent to Lebanon Primitive Baptist Church, 1101 CR 186, Goldsboro, TX 79519 or Harmony Plains Singing School 4304 45th St., Lubbock, TX 79513.
