Floyd Morris

September 14, 1957 — September 12, 2025

Floyd Lee Morris, 67, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, passed away on September 12, 2025. A Memorial Gathering will be held on September 27, 2025, from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, Texas.

Born on September 14, 1957, in Colorado City, Texas, Floyd lived a life marked by hard work, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.

Floyd spent much of his career as a truck driver in the oilfield industry. In later years, he became an owner/operator, taking pride in the independence and responsibility that came with running his own operation. His dedication to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family and friends.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Machelle Corley, Brandy Blankenship, and Allyshia Barrientes and husband Bidal; his son Lee Morris and wife Guadalupe; granddaughters Chelsea Corley, Paislea Corley (Ashton), Kaylee Morris (Brady); Adalaide Morris and Ruby Morris; grandsons Nolen Morris (Camille), Brandon Morris and Elliott Morris, and Zayden Blankenship; great-grandson Nathan Corley; and great-granddaughters Brylee Anderson and Lottie Jean Holland-Key. Floyd also leaves behind his brothers Sollie Morris, Chester Morris, and Carroll Gonzilas; sisters Karen Wood (Dennis) and Tonya Boyd (Robin); along with many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bobbie Jean Morris; sister Deborah Pritchett; and mother Vida Gonzilas.

Floyd had a passion for the outdoors-he found joy in hunting and fishing whenever he could. He was known for being outgoing and never met a stranger. A natural protector, Floyd stood firmly by those he loved. His presence brought comfort to many, whether through a shared story or a helping hand.

A man of faith, Floyd loved the Lord deeply. He was especially proud of his son Lee's founding of Nehemiah Abilene and wholeheartedly believed in the mission of the ministry. His support for this work reflected both his spiritual convictions and his desire to see others uplifted.

Floyd Lee Morris will be remembered for his strength of character, generous spirit, and enduring love for family. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
