Eddie Mack Freeland

LAWN: Eddie Mack Freelan: 83, passed away on March 17, 2026. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 11:00am in the Texas Veteran Cemetery in Abilene. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, from 5 to 7pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, Texas.

Eddie was born on July 7, 1942, to Edgar and Ruby (Fletcher) Freeland in Brownwood, Texas. He joined the Army after high school and served for two years. Upon separation from the armed services, he attended school at Arlington College in Arlington, Texas graduating with a degree in business finance.

He went to work for Skaggs-Albertsons in the household goods section. He worked his way up the corporate ladder to store manager retiring in Abilene from Albertsons. He later worked for Big Lots, Sams, and then ACU.

He is survived by his sister Cinda Schamber and husband Bruce; sons Armon Freeland, James Freeland, William Freeland, and Ernest Freeland; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Starr Freeland (Dec. 2018).
