In Loving Memory of Diann Flatt

Diann Flatt entered her heavenly home surrounded by the love she had spent a lifetime giving to others. While our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort knowing she is now at peace and resting in the presence of her Savior.

Diann was a devoted Christian whose life revolved around caring for her family, friends, and the many animals she loved so dearly. She worked hard throughout her life and never hesitated to put the needs of others before her own. Her greatest joy came from making sure those around her were loved, cared for, and never left hungry.

She was preceded in death by her late husband of 50 years, Lester Nelson. She later found companionship and love with her husband, Lonnie Flatt.

Diann was the daughter of Ima Jean and Rolene Finch and was the oldest of six children. As the eldest, she lovingly helped raise and care for her siblings throughout their lives. She is survived by her brothers, Tommy, Billy, and David, and her sisters, Jodie and Stella.

She was the proud and loving mother of her only son, Aaron Nelson. She loved her daughter-in-law, Mitzi Nelson, as if she were her own daughter and treasured the special bond they shared.

Nothing brought Diann more happiness than her grandchildren, Tristan, Brylie, and Emarie. They were the light of her life, and she loved them with all her heart. Her family knew that no matter what was happening in life, Gigi's love, comfort, and encouragement were always there.

Diann was famous for her incredible cooking, especially her homemade rolls, though anyone fortunate enough to sit at her table knew that everything she prepared was made with love. She had a spirited personality, a temper now and then, and a goofy sense of humor that could bring laughter to those around her.

More than anything, however, she was known for her heart. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, comfortable, and deeply loved. To Diann, family was never limited by blood. She had a way of taking people in and treating everyone like family. Whether someone needed a meal, a listening ear, encouragement, or simply a place where they felt they belonged, Diann opened her heart and made them feel at home. Many people who entered her life became part of her extended family because that was simply who she was.

Throughout her life, Diann gave so much of her heart to those she loved that, in many ways, she left nothing behind for herself. She poured every ounce of love she had into her family, friends, grandchildren, and even the animals she cared for. She was a mother not only to her son, but also to her siblings, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, and countless others who found comfort in her kindness.

Though life without her will never be the same, we take comfort knowing she is now in Heaven, watching over those she loved and making sure everyone is okay-just as she always did here on earth.

Diann will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
