Charles Gerald Smith
March 20, 1919 — June 23, 2015
Charles G. Smith of Austin; served in the Army 648th Engineer's Battalion in WW II; retired from the DPS Crime Laboratory after a lengthy career; passed away early June 23, 2015. He was 96 years young. He is survived by one son and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Miho Smith, of Okinawa, Japan, and by his devoted and loving friend, Edna Groeschel, of Austin. A visitation will be held at Fry~Smith Funeral Home on Friday, June 26, 2015, with a burial service at MacBee Cemetery in Ovalo, Texas following at 3:00pm.
