Mike Box, 77, of Tuscola/Buffalo Gap, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at 12:40 p.m. A graveside service will be held on October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
Mike was born in Dallas, Texas, and raised in the country on his grandparents' land - a place that helped shape his love for the outdoors and a simple, hands-on life. He attended school in Abilene and, after graduating, proudly served in the United States Navy for two years.
A skilled welder by trade and a true jack of all trades, Mike was known for his hard work, creativity, and ability to fix just about anything. He approached life with determination and a good sense of humor, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.
On January 1, 1992, Mike married the love of his life, Christine. They shared nearly 40 years together, building a life filled with love, laughter, and deep companionship.
Mike had three sons - Garreth, Jarod, and Gabe and through his marriage with Christine brought Colleen, Jack and Kristy - who were a source of pride and joy in his life. He deeply loved his family and especially cherished time spent outdoors hunting, fishing, and making memories with those he loved most. His laughter, energy, and sense of fun left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Christine; his sons Garreth, Jarod, and Gabe; Colleen, Jack and Kristy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many cousins; and a host of friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
