Barbara Sue Gray

Abilene

Barbara Sue Gray (Frazier) passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 21, 2026, at the age of 80. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Buffalo Gap Cemetery.

Barbara was born on May 3, 1946, in Abilene, Texas, to Joe and Maxine Frazier. She attended schools in Abilene and Elmdale, and graduated from Eula High School in 1964.

On May 30, 1964, Barbara married the love of her life, Doyle Gray. Together they shared 62 years of marriage and built a life filled with faith, family, and devotion to one another.

Barbara was a Christian whose faith in Jesus shaped her life. She loved the Lord deeply and loved her family with all of her heart. She had a gentle and quiet spirit and lived her life with devotion to those she loved. She was an amazing cook. Without a doubt, no one could compete with her delicious homemade dinner rolls. She found such joy in caring for her family, and especially treasured being a grandmother. She truly loved rocking her grandbabies, taking care of them, and surrounding them with love.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Doyle Gray of Abilene; her children, Gwen Allen and husband Ron of Buffalo Gap; Stephen Gray and wife Jana of Abilene; and Carrie Crowe and husband Alan of Abilene; her grandchildren, Ashley Huston and husband Lance of Abilene; Haylee Rogers and husband Byron of Buffalo Gap; Cutter Crowe and wife Cassie of Abilene; Austin Gray and wife Bayleigh of Fraser, Colorado; Blake Allen of Tuscola; Bailey Gray of Costa Rica; and Jackson Gray of Abilene; her 12 great-grandchildren: Oakley, Tatum, Laylah, Willow, and Duke Huston; Jensen, Ellisen, Lizzie, and Ahava Rogers; Berkleigh and Laikyn Gray; and Sofia Gray; siblings, Alton Frazier and wife Darla of Cisco; Jimmy Frazier of Abilene; Sharon Jones and husband Donald of Abilene; Gerald Frazier and wife Debra of Dudley; and Ronnie Frazier and wife Lisa of Tuscola; her brother-in-law J.W. Gray and wife Melody of Clyde; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Maxine Frazier; her in-laws, Norman and Claudine Gray, her sister, Shirley Gibson; and her beloved grandson, Reid Crowe.

Pallbearers will be Barbara’s grandsons: Cutter Crowe, Austin Gray, Blake Allen, Jackson Gray, Lance Huston and Byron Rogers, and honorary pallbearer Reid Crowe.

Though her family grieves her absence, they find great comfort and peace in knowing she is now completely healed and in the presence of Jesus.
