Wayne Eaton

Merril “Wayne” Eaton, 65, of Ovalo, Texas, died Friday, July 19, 2019. Visitation: Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 3:00-5:00PM at Fry-Smith Funeral Home at 502 Kent Ave. Tuscola, Texas 79562 Memorial Service: July 22, 2019  at 10:00AM ,First Baptist Church Tuscola, Texas 700 Kent Ave, Tuscola, TX 79562 Burial will follow at the family cemetery, Roger’s Cemetery County Road 159. Ovalo, Texas 79541. Funeral services directed by Fry-Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola.

Merril Wayne Eaton was born May 24, 1954 in Abilene, Texas. He was the eldest son to Merril and Mildred (Rogers) Eaton of Ovalo. He is survived by his two siblings Marshall Eaton and Marilyn Eaton Jones. Marshall is married to wife, Deann Eaton and their daughters Aspen, and Tayln Eaton of Ovalo. Wayne’s sister, Marilyn is married to husband, Tom Jones of Aledo, and their daughter Kimberly Jones Penepacker and husband, Carson of Runaway Bay.

Wayne graduated Jim Ned high school in 1972. He attended Tarleton State University and graduated with an Agricultural Degree in 1976 where he met the love his life, Christi Ann Fuller and later married June 9, 1979. They celebrated their 40 years together with happiness, love, and devotion. This love is survived by their two children, Jeremy Chad Eaton of Abilene, and Lindsey Eaton Braden, wife of John Braden of San Antonio. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Nya Eaton of Abilene, Bristol and Tyson Braden of San Antonio.

Wayne also was a proud member of the First Baptist Church in Tuscola, where he served as a deacon. He also was an award-winning salesman for MSC direct for the last 35 years. Wayne impacted everyone he met. Wayne was always a great conversationalist and he could always sense when someone was in need of a hug, an ear, or a helping hand. He always strived to walk in God’s light and always tried to be the best Christian he could be. He showed compassion, dedication, patience, was slow to anger, and had a giving heart, a helpful soul, with an infectious smile and boisterous laugh. He will not be forgotten for his legacy lives on through the lives of his family and everyone who he has touched.

In lieu of flowers a Memorial Donation can be sent to First Baptist Church Tuscola, building fund, at 700 Kent Ave, Tuscola, TX 79562 or to the Rogers Cemetery in care of Texas National Bank of Tuscola, 533 Garza Ave, Tuscola, TX 79562
