Lupe (Chavez) QuintanillaJune 17, 1925 ~ December 25, 2017 (age 92)
OVALO: Guadalupe Quintanilla, 92, beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was called to her eternal resting place on Christmas Day. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, December 30, 2017, in the Ovalo Baptist Church’s sanctuary, officiated by Bro. Pat Voce, directed by Fry~Smith Funeral Home, Tuscola. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.
She entered this world on June 17, 1925 in El Granjeno, Texas; she was born to Eulojio and Juanita Chavez; she was one of ten children.
She married Artemio Quintanilla on April 13, 1947, they had nine children. Lupe and Artemio moved from McAllen, where they had resided for nine years, to southern Taylor county.
Lupe was a homemaker, who loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and reading her bible daily. She loved to attend church and was always a member of the church choir.
She is survived by her children, Mary Garza and husband, Florencio of Ovalo; Lilly Ochoa of Ovalo; Artemio Quintanilla, Jr. and wife, Ana of Abilene; Emma Martinez and husband, Sam of San Antonio; Janie Quintanilla of Ovalo; and Eulojio and wife, Diane of Grand Prairie; daughter-in-law Elsa Quintanilla of Grand Prairie. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Adam and Ruben, daughter, Rachel, and son-in-law, Al Ochoa.
