Jimmy Ray Martin

Jimmy Ray Martin, 78,, was called to his eternal resting place on May 5, 2017.

He was born on July 14, 1938 in Carbon, Tx. to Ralph and Frankie Martin. When he was three years old his family moved to Eastland, Tx. He attended grade school, junior high and high school in Eastland. He graduated with the class of 1957. Being an Eastland Maverick and having his best friend Leo Smith, was one of the best times of his life. He loved telling stories of his high school football days.

He joined the army in 1958 with his dear friend Terry Warren. He did a tour in Germany and then Fort Hood. In 1961 he met his future wife, Patsy Martin. They married on August 18 1962. They moved to Abilene, Tx where they built their first home. In 1963 they welcomed home a daughter named Kelli and then in 1967 a son named Kirk. In 1976 they moved to Buffalo Gap, Tx where they lived until his death.

He worked at Western Plumbing Wholesalers where he spent 32 years in their sales department before retiring.

Jimmy loved spending time outdoors at his home. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren growing up and playing in their back yard pool

Jimmy is survived by his daughter Kelli Ethridge; son-in-law Keith Ethridge, his son Kirk Martin, four grandchildren and two great grand children

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm on May 10, 2017 at Fry~Smith Funeral Home in Tuscola, Texas. Private Burial to follow at a later date.
