Wink Dois Earl Anderson

August 18, 1939 — January 10, 2017

ABILENE: Dois "Wink" Anderson, 77, beloved Father and Husband, was called to his eternal resting place on January 10, 2017. He entered this world on August 18, 1939 in Ft. Belknap, born to Oscar and Martha Baxter Anderson.

He married Marvona (Smith) Anderson on September 2, 1959 in Waurika, OK. They moved to Merkel in 1972 where they raised their family.

Dois gained his nickname "Wink" because of his father always asking him to wink when he was a child. Wink worked as an oilfield roughneck all of his life, spending twenty five years with Hack Drilling Company of Abilene..

Wink enjoyed his family, spending most of his time doting on his wife, singing to his family, loving his grandkids and watching dirt track sprint cars, especially blue number 4t6.

Wink was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Alvin Anderson, sisters, Velma Kinser and Bill Green and son, Sam Anderson.

Wink is survived by his wife, daughters Leticia Anderson of Abilene, Diane McMillon of Ragley, LA; and Bonnie and Russ Fletcher of Tuscola; and daughter in law, Samantha Anderson of Tomball; sisters, Louella Isham of Olton, Joyce Addison of Archer City, Jenell Smith of Onley; and his beloved dog Tiger.

Special thanks Megan of Kinder Hearts Hospice, Trista Franklin and Sabrina Cabrerra who were always there when we needed them, Dr. Fuller, his nurse Stephanie, and Dr. Vega and his nurse Jan who helped every step along the way.

Wink was a wonderful person and will be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 at Winks house, 2316 S34 St, Abilene, officiated by Steve Longmire.
